Top 10 Gifts for Artistic & Alternative Teen
**UPDATED: I found a new source for the journal for much less!
We’re prepping for holiday shopping around here and have our top 10 list for an artistic and alternative teen. I find it sometimes hard to know what will be cool and quirky instead of plain dorky, so this type of list helps me a lot! I’m making this list from Caitlyn’s wishlist on Pinterest, updated for Christmas.
10. Fineliner markers for drawing, doodling, and detailing pictures! These are a huge hit and at a great price point.
9. Gold lined page journal, this one is the Versailles journal. It’s different and likely that no-one else will have it. ** New link! Much less expensive!
8. Nail polish colors like this one, called Island Hopping, are a hit. No sparkles, just shiny, sleek, and modern.
7. This book, Things Are What You Make of Them: Life Advice for Creatives (by Adam J. Kurtz). Encouragement for the artists and creatives out there – bits of wisdom to reframe false starts, failure, and rejection on the road to success. Tear out pages that your creative may use to decorate their room.
6. Vinyls of their favorite artists (and a record player if your teen doesn’t have one).
5. Coffee socks – or really any cute and ironic socks that reflect your teen’s interests, hobbies, or likes. Just make sure not to buy too many pairs of socks at one time or they may not get worn.
4. Awesome pigmented eyeshadows! These are on Caitlyn’s list: Concrete Minerals Black Magic Collection
3. Salt Lamps for great ambience AND health benefits! Improvement of sleep and stress reduction are in the top 10 list of benefits. (this one is a win win!)
2. Boho / Thai pants like these found on Etsy are a huge hit here. They are hugely comfortable!
1. Raw gemstone necklaces – this one is opal which inspires hope, creativity and happiness while easing stress.
Other things on her list are beautiful mugs, playbills from her favorite artist’s shows, and vintage wire rimmed glasses.
I hope this list gave you some ideas for the creative teen in your life. If you have others to share, please comment!
